avocado dinner rolls

Here is an easy to do recipe for making healthy avocado dinner rolls or buns. Preparation and baking time is about 1 hour 40 minutes and recipe makes 12. Spread butter on hot ones just taken out of the oven and enjoy!

Ingredients:
2 medium size avocado
2 measuring cups of warm green tea
2 tablespoons of white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons of dry yeast
2 tablespoons of corn oil
1 kg plain flour (more or less)
1 egg for glaze

Method:

Scoop out and mash the flesh of the avocado

Use a large bowl to make the warm green tea

Dissolve the sugar and yeast in the green tea. Then add the corn oil.

Add the avocado flesh into the liquid and mix well.

Add the flour gradually and beat till smooth. Add more flour if the mixture is very sticky.

Knead into a dough and put into a greased bowl, cover with cloth and let rise for 30 minutes.

Then form the dough into 12 round pieces. As this dough is slightly soft and sticky, you will need to flour your palms while doing it. Grease a large oven tray and arrange the pieces, leaving space in between to allow for them to rise further.

Leave to rise another 10 minutes. Then beat the egg and glaze the surface of the rolls with it.

Pre-heat oven to 150 degrees celcius and bake for 30 minutes, then another 10 minutes by raising temperature to 170 degrees. Rolls are done when golden brown, surface is firm to the touch and a wooden skewer inserted into it comes out clean.
